Course Outline
This hands-on course provides practical demonstrations of preparation techniques and designs in fixed prosthodontics. Delegates will take part in live demos using electric micro-motors on phantom head models, supported by informal mini-lectures to explain key principles.
The aim is to share practical, clinically relevant techniques that can be applied in everyday practice. Topics include classic principles and modern adaptations of full-coverage restorations.

Gain practical knowledge for clinical use in fixed prosthodontics
Combine hands-on training with informal discussions to build expertise
Increase confidence in material selection and preparation design

Deepen their understanding of successful crown and bridge design
Learn when to apply different designs for various clinical scenarios
Enhance both theoretical and manual skills for tooth preparation

Morning session (9.00am – 12.00pm)
9.00am – 9.30am: Course outline and classic principles for full coverage
9.30am – 10.30am: Hands-on full coverage preparations
10.30am – 11.00am: Coffee & mini-lecture: bridge preps and surveyed crowns
11.00am – 12.00pm: Hands-on bridge preps and surveyed crowns
Lunch: 12.00pm – 1.00pm
Afternoon session (1.00pm – 4.30pm)
1.00pm – 1.30pm: Mini-lecture: resin-bonded and veneer preparations
1.30pm – 2.30pm: Practical demo: resin-bonded and veneer preparations
2.30pm – 3.00pm: Coffee & mini-lecture: onlays, provisionals, and bonding
3.00pm – 4.00pm: Practical demo: onlays, provisionals, and bonding
4.00pm – 4.30pm: Q&A

Specialist in prosthodontics, trained at Dublin Dental University Hospital, Trinity College Dublin. Founder of Clontarf Aesthetic Dentistry, with expertise in digital dentistry and modern prosthodontic workflows.
